Artek + Marimekko Alvar Aalto Stool 60 Lokki - 90th Anniversary Edition

To celebrate 90 years of Artek in 2025, Artek has joined forces with Finnish design house Marimekko for a limited collection of one-of-a-kind Aalto furniture. Merging Marimekko's art of printmaking and Artek's innovative wood bending technology, select Marimekko design classics are presented using marquetry on the iconic Aalto Stool 60 seat top. Here, designer Maija Isola's wavy Lokki (Seagull) pattern decorates the seat, which takes inspiration from sun-lit curtains that created wavy shadows on the fabric in Isola's home. Contrasting wood grains create a shimmering effect, as light, pattern and wood interact to bring the pattern to life.
