The Story
To celebrate 90 years of Artek in 2025, Artek has joined forces with Finnish design house Marimekko for a limited collection of one-of-a-kind Aalto furniture. Merging Marimekko's art of printmaking and Artek's wood bending technology, select Marimekko design classics are presented using marquetry on the iconic Aalto Stool 60 seat top. Here, designer Maija Isola's flowing Seireeni (siren) pattern from 1964 decorates the seat, inspired by the movement of water during her travels in Greece. Contrasting wood grains create a shimmering effect, as light, pattern and wood interact to bring the pattern to life. Versatile and stackable, use the Stool 60 as seating, an end table, a plant stand, and more.
