The Story

Legs of solid birch with a birch honeycomb core tabletop, tables 90B and 90C are of the highest natural quality. Designed by Alvar Aalto in 1935, these contemporary circular tables have bent wood legs in Aalto's famous "L" shape. Created by bending birch laminates at a 90-degree angle, the legs are attached directly to the underside of the table. This technique creates an extremely sturdy but lightweight support system that requires no additional framework. Aalto considered the L-leg his most important furniture innovation.
