Designer Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi first created Piccolo in 1953, and it has represented Marimekko's legacy of iconic stripes ever since. The playful striped pattern is painted with vivid brushstrokes in a delightful dark red and cream colorway. Made from a cotton and linen blend, the pattern's stripes are printed running in two different directions to give the appearance of a sewn edge.
