The Story

The Kingfisher Bird boasts a powerful silver beak and a vibrant orange chest that fades into a beautiful blue tail, an eye-catching pop of color wherever it lands. The glasswork and coloring give the illusion of textured feathers, authentic to the Kingfisher species. Crafted in Fiskars, Finland exclusively for FinnStyle, the Kingfisher glass bird is designed by artist Tarmo Maaronen and mouth-blown by a small team of skilled blowers. Maaronen was born in 1963 in Urjala, Finland and has been blowing glass since 1979. He worked as a teacher of Scandinavian glass techniques from 1995-1997, until he founded his own glass studio Bianco Blu.

***NOTE: Each bird is mouth-blown and unique. Your special bird might vary somewhat from the bird pictured.
